We opened the doors to our first Squat & Gobble location at 237 Fillmore Street with a dream and a desire to start a business that was going to help serve the community. 22 years later, we have made countless memories and friendships with our customers, whom we view as family.

Over the years, we have watched the neighborhood change, businesses come and go, but one thing has remained constant, our desire to create a fun, clean environment where we could welcome you all to experience great conversation and even better food. We have loved every minute of it and wouldn’t change it for the world.

Even though we are closing our Fillmore location, we know that all of our memories and friendships will continue to live on. We thank you all for your patronage and loyalty to Squat & Gobble and we look forward to serving you at our other San Francisco locations.

Thank you Fillmore, you have been good to us!

The four Squat and Gobble locations have changed their on-tap beer selection for the entire month of April to honor San Francisco and the SF Giants. Each of the four restaurants will only serve microbrews that are created in the Bay Area. These include BREW FREE! OR DIE IPA, DRAKES AMBER ALE, TRUMMER PILS and PROHIBITION ALE among others. And to add to baseball fever, the beers can also be accompanied by specially-created garlic fries that have been added to the menu to honor the world champs.

“This is a month of pride for the city,” according to Robert McGown, General Manager. “We are using this promotion to let our customers decide which of these beers will be added to the menu permanently.”

A pint of the micro-brews is only $2.75 with food purchase, or a tasting flight of all four will also be $2.75.

Drake Post

Squat and Gobble is an omelette and crepe bar in the Castro with a rather risqué name that jokingly represents the demographic element the Castro District in San Francisco is famous for. The editor’s picks are as follows: If you’re in the mood for a savory crepe, the Hawaiian is a delicious play between sweet and salty with the pineapple, ham, and sweet and sour sauce; Want something sweeter? Get The Whole Thing dessert crepe; Came for a slightly healthier breakfast? The South of the Border omelette is a surefire pleaser for just about any palette.

Offers Wide Variety, Flavorful Choices at Reasonable Price

San Francisco, Calif. (November 15, 2010) – San Francisco based Squat & Gobble has announced its new Discovery Menu. For many years, the restaurant has been popular for breakfast and lunch, and even though the restaurant has always served dinner items, it is now launching the Discovery Menu to encourage its customers to rediscover Squat & Gobble as a reasonably priced dinner option.

The Squat & Gobble Discovery Dinner menu for two includes one appetizer to share, two entrées, and two glasses of wine for $29.95. The price for one appetizer, one entrée and one glass of wine is $19.95. Current appetizer choices include soup of the day, house salad, shrimp and ginger pot stickers, BBQ chicken quesadilla, sake steamed mussels, and Philly Cheese Steak spring rolls. The entrée choices include items such as roasted chicken, sesame crusted Ahi tuna steak, salmon filet, stir fry with beef, chicken or tofu, and Teriyaki marinated beef tenderloin. The Discovery Menu is offered daily from 5:00 – 10:00 p.m. at all five restaurant locations throughout San Francisco including West Portal, Upper Haight, Fillmore Street, 16th & Market and the Marina.

“We wanted to offer our customers dinner at a reasonable price. There is a wide variety of menu choices and we will be changing the menu seasonally,” explains Squat & Gobble President Issa Sweidan. “In this economy, people still want to go out to eat, but they are being more mindful of how much they spend. Our Discovery Menu offers a great value.”

Squat & Gobble also offers a wide range of regular dinner menu items, which are available all day long. “If you want a cheeseburger at 10:00 a.m., no problem, we can do that.” says Sweidan. The regular dinner menu includes pasta entrées from $9.95 for the Chicken Pepperadelle to $12.95 for the Seafood Linguine; entrée sized salads from $9.95 for the Salmon Cobb to $11.95 for the Crab Salad with Avocado and Blue Cheese; and sandwich offerings from $9.95 for the ½ Pound Burger, Turkey Burger and Portabella Mushroom Stack.
